Designing an office space is no easy matter these days. The different working methods employed by different teams per person or task creates many challenges. The modern workplace is currently in full development, and the focus is increasingly on the employee. The “one size-fits-all” design actually doesn’t fit any more.
Everything comes together in BDO’s new office in The Hague. The latest trends in office design are reviewed here: dynamic flexibility, the return of wood, and spaces that reinforce team spirit. Interior architect, M+R interior architecture, designed the building interior. Interior Group, working with Keijsers Interiors, was responsible for the implementation. We designed the reception area and entrance desk, and we built the library, kitchen areas and the striking acoustic phone booths. These provide areas in which calls can be made quietly thanks to the ambient noise being muffled by the acoustic wall coverings. Of course, an office building needs greenery, which is why we built enormous planters and placed them strategically around the spaces.
Our strength lay in the combination of design, professionalism, craftsmanship, and uniqueness. The architect, installer and client have ensured it has become a beautiful workplace.
